See ChangeNYC a joint initiative of the Mayors Office and the New York City Department of Design and Construction asked Jon Burgerman to ‘renovate’ a bathroom.

Their goal is to improve the experience of the most vulnerable New Yorkers who depend on walk-in centers for services and support. These centres include senior, food stamps, jobs, probation centers and shelters.

Grafitti often plagues the bathrooms of the services centers. To curb it, See ChangeNYC had an idea; Turn the bathrooms into art galleries. Put plaques on the door to honor the art, honor the artist. Will clients leave it be? Respect what these artists do? We’ll see, It’s an experiment.

What is the value of a beautifully crafted gem? What is its worth if it’s made of paper? Paper sculptor Kirsten Hassenfeld explores the fantasy-driven world of opulent extravagance through her handcrafted paper jewelry. Using translucent white paper, the artist forms intricately designed polygons that resemble brilliantly cut gemstones. As for how she goes about constructing the pieces, Hassenfeld admits that the art is a repetitious and labor-intensive craft. Much of the work involves repeatedly cutting, folding, gluing and incorporating the quilling technique.

Hasenfeld began working with paper in 1999 and has produced several serial installations over the last decade that address the subject of luxury. Wealth and monetary success is often defined by a bounty of jewels and other expensive crystals. As such, Hassenfeld touches on her own pipe dreams of such prosperity through ordinary materials.

What’s that? Over 500 followers!? Since when? Well, since a few weeks ago actually. Sounds like a perfect time to celebrate, and what better way to do so than with FREE STUFF?

But really, there is no better way.

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition hits PC on August 24th (about a month from this posting), and in addition to being the highly requested port of the popular console title, it’s also packed with new areas, items, enemies, boss fights, and multiplayer features. It’s the perfect prize for any Dark Souls fan! But not just existing fans. Dark Souls is a wonderfully bleak and unforgiving action RPG romp through a rotting and debilitated undead world. It’s known for its intense difficulty, unforgettable level design, varied enemies, unique online multiplayer components and epic boss fights. It’s a game I love so much that I’m excited to spend my money on it just so I can give it away. That’s how good it is.

But, I realize that Dark Souls is not for everyone. So, maybe check out a trailer or two, read some reviews, or maybe look through some of this pretty cool blog dedicated to everything Dark Souls so you can get a grasp on whether or not Dark Souls is for you. While the game is definitely surmountable, there’s no understating the emphasis the game puts on its challenge. It’s tough, will explain very little of its mechanics and is generally a very cryptic game. Dying can be very punishing, and even useful NPCs can be murdered without ever being restored. A little research goes a long way, and I would love to be confident that the winner of this giveaway is someone who will appreciate it.

And since it is a PC game, the specs are always a factor. Dark Souls on PC is pretty lenient I will add, but it never hurts to check. The game is also optimized for use with a game pad (keyboard and mouse will be functional of course, but not ideal), and does require the use of Games For Windows Live. I understand that’s a deal breaker for some folks, so I just want to make it apparent:
